We stayed the first 6 nights at Grand Miramar. You need a car to stay there and can't be timid about driving up the VERY steep hill to get there.

In town for the evening: Joe Jack's for dinner, then a stroll along the beach to Los Muertos Pier.

Drove to get ice cream at the recommended Nieve de Garrafa "Don Yeti." Whoops, no pictures. Then found a wonderful seafood restaurant nearby for dinner. I can't find the restaurant on the map so perhaps it's closed.

Paid to park in Boca then walked across the street to the pier to take a water taxi from Boca to Quimixto
Quimixto
We walked the trail to Quimixto Falls, which is about a mile away. (Horse and ATVs rides are available if you don't want to walk.) Upon arrival, we purchased drinks at the restaurant to claim a table and swim at the falls.

Lunch at Canto Palmares. Last meal with Claude & Becky before they headed home.
Marc and I relocated into town for our final two nights. We found Casa Nawalli Puerto Vallarta to be a charming boutique hotel just a bit of a walk uphill from the boardwalk on the sea.
