15 nights: 1 night in LA, 4 nights La Paz Mexico, 9 nights on catamaran in Sea of Cortez, 1 night La Paz

Unlike the resort zones further up the coast, downtown La Paz has strict height limits and no mega-resorts. Our Airbnb condo (Vista Coral) stood out as one of the area's few taller buildings, located uniquely next to the waterfront at the end of the malecon and the edge of the marina.

Leaving Costa Baja Marina: We’re officially underway, kicking off our adventure with a quick drive-by sighting of Venus. Steve Jobs commissioned the 256 foot superyacht, though he unfortunately never lived to see it finished. Today, the vessel is still owned by his widow.

Off to Isla Espiritu Santo

 Day stop at Ensenada La Gallina on the west side of Isla Espiritu Santo. Too many bugs to stay very long.

We moved over to Playa Bonanza ,on the east side of the island, for our second and third night at anchor.

We sailed past Isla Coyote and gorgeous scenery on our way to Isla San Francisco where we stayed two nights on the east side anchorage. It appears we failed to take any photos of Isla San Francisco!

Next, we anchored off the remote small fishing village, San Evaristo, on the mainland.

Off to Caleta Partida where we overnighted on the east side.

The next night we overnighted on Isla Espiritu Santo at Ensenada Grande (southern bay)

On our final full day, we explored Ensenada el Cordonal, Caleta Partida (west side), and Ensenada Candelero (all on Isla Espiritu Santo). Then we finished by anchoring overnight at Caletta Lobos to stage ourselves for a morning return to civilization.

We spent our last night in La Paz at the lovely boutique hotel, The Mantarraya Outpost.
